Terms of Service
Effective 12 October 2026
1. Who we are
Playlier is provided by Playlier Pty Ltd (ABN 57 698 532 731, ACN 698 532 731), an Australian private company based in Victoria, Australia ("Playlier", "we", "us"). You can contact us at support@playlier.com.
These terms apply when you visit playlier.com, create a Playlier account or use the Playlier app (together, "the service"). Playlier is an app for families to make interactive stories and games together, then play them. By creating an account, subscribing or using the service, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy form part of them. In these terms, an "adult" is a person aged 18 or over.
2. Accounts and households
- An account is opened and held by an adult, the account holder. You must be an adult to open an account or join a household as one of its adults.
- Each account is for one household. A household can have up to 4 adults and as many children as you like.
- Children don't have their own accounts. They use profiles that an adult in the household sets up and manages.
- The account holder is responsible for how the household uses the service, including how children use it.
- Keep your sign-in details safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.
3. Subscriptions and payment
Playlier is a paid subscription with one plan for the whole household, paid monthly or yearly. Our current prices are on our Pricing page: US$15 a month or US$120 a year. Prices are set in US dollars; checkout shows the price in your local currency, including any sales tax, VAT or GST, before you pay.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price that applies then, until you cancel. If a payment can't be collected, Paddle may try again, and we may pause your access until it is paid.
4. Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
When you subscribe, you buy from Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to your purchase as well as these terms. Paddle sends your receipts, and you can manage your purchase through the link in those emails or at paddle.net. You're also welcome to contact us, and we'll help.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time through the link in your Paddle receipt, at paddle.net, or by emailing us. Your subscription then stops renewing. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
6. Refunds
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment or any renewal. Our Refund Policy explains how.
7. Price changes
If the price of your plan is going to change, we'll email the account holder at least 30 days before it applies. The new price starts from your first renewal after that notice. If you don't want to pay it, you can cancel before then.
8. Your family's content
- The stories, worlds, characters, rules and anything else your household makes in Playlier belong to you, or to whoever in your family made them. We don't claim ownership of them.
- So we can run the service, you give us permission to store, copy, sync and display your content, only as needed to provide the service to your household and the people you choose to share it with. This ends when your content is deleted.
- We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't sell it.
- Only add material you have the right to use. If you share content with people outside your household, they will be able to see it.
- We may remove content that breaks these terms, and where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.
9. Using Playlier fairly
You must not:
- break the law, or use the service to harm, harass or threaten anyone;
- add or share content that is sexual, hateful or violent in a way that could harm children, or that exploits children in any way;
- add content that infringes someone else's rights, or share other people's personal information without their permission;
- try to get into accounts, systems or data that aren't yours, or disrupt or overload the service;
- copy or collect data from the service by automated means, resell it, or share access with people outside your household.
10. The service
We work hard to keep Playlier available and your family's work safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Features may change as we improve Playlier. If a change significantly reduces what your plan includes, we'll tell you first, and you can cancel and get a refund of the unused part of your current period.
11. Closing accounts
The account holder can ask us to close the account at any time by emailing us; we'll cancel any active subscription too. We may suspend or close an account if someone in the household seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect children, other people or the service. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first.
If we close your account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we'll refund the unused part of any period you've paid for. If we ever stop offering Playlier, we'll give at least 30 days' notice, refund the unused part of any period you've paid for, and give you a way to get a copy of your family's content.
12. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your subscription and receive a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel and obtain a refund for the unused portion. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, or any rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
13. Our liability
Subject to section 12 and as far as the law allows, we aren't liable for loss that wasn't reasonably foreseeable or wasn't caused by our breach of these terms, or for events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This doesn't limit liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
14. Changes to these terms
If we make a significant change to these terms, we'll email the account holder at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then and we'll refund the unused part of any period you've paid for.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live outside Australia, you keep any consumer protections where you live that can't be excluded. If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out.
